The tower was incredibly different from the motel's intended tropical theme.Īfter renovations were fully done, the Imperial Palace officially opened on November 1, 1979.Ī marquee for the Imperial Palace was created in front of the hotel, which was eventually removed in the late 1980s. Flamingo Capri, the motel before Imperial Palace, built an Asian-themed tower known as the 'Imperial Palace Tower'.
